NTSE Important Dates

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is one of the prestigious examinations of the nation. It is held in two stages – NTSE Stage 1 and NTSE Stage 2. NTSE Stage 1 exam is conducted by the states and it is going to be scheduled in November 2019 and NTSE Stage 2 is conducted by NCERT and it is going to be scheduled in May 2020. The students who clear NTSE Stage 1 are eligible for NTSE Stage 2 exam. NTSE Scholarship is awarded to the students on the basis of the results of NTSE Stage 2. The official notification will be issued with all the important dates.

The NTSE 2019-2020 Application/Registration Form are expected to be released in the first week of August-September 2019 by all the States and UT. The last submission dates are different from each state. The NTSE stage 1 admit card expected to be released in the month of October 2019 by the SCERT of the resp. state, while the NTSE stage 2 admit card in the month of May 2020, will be issued by NCERT. Students may contact the State Liaison Officer for any kind of difficulty.

NTSE 2019 Eligibility

According to the criteria laid out by CBSE, NTSE is open for the students of Indian nationality irrespective of either they study in India or abroad at class X level.

-Candidates studying in India who are selected on the basis of their screening examination will be eligible for NTSE.

-Candidates studying Abroad having Indian Nationality are eligible. They are exempted from the first level and are permitted to appear directly at the second level examination.

NTSE Eligibility Criteria (Stage 1)

  • Candidate must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in Class IX. The candidate must be of recognized school in the respective State or Union Territory.
  • The Open Distance Learning (ODL) program students will also be considered eligible if they are below 18 years of age as on July 1, YYYY (the same year in which candidate giving the exam) and are not employed when they appear for Class X examination.

NTSE Eligibility Criteria (Stage 2)

  • Candidate must have scored 80% marks or above in the State level exam, to be considered eligible.
  • The student who secures the minimum required marks in Stage II will be eligible for the scholarship program.
