Himachal Pradesh NTSE Stage 1 Official Notification – Exam Date | Exam Syllabus | Application Form | Admit Card

Himachal Pradesh State Council of Education Research and Training has announced the official date for the NTSE state level examination. The exam will be conducted on 3 November 2019 for students of Class X in all the recognized schools of Himachal Pradesh. NTSE is a scholarship program introduced by the National Council of Education Research and Training, Government of India. It aims to find talented students across the country and nurture them by providing financial support for an entire career.

Application Form and Admit Card

Students can download the Application form and Admit Card from the official website. Students must attach the Admit Card with the Application Form, it would be returned to the respective candidate after the allotment of Roll no. Candidate must attach the below-mentioned documents with the application form:

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC must attach attested copy of the certificate from SDM/ Tehsildar/ Naib-Tehsildar. OBC & EWS candidates must attach income certificate too.

Candidates belonging to PCG must attach a certificate issued from CDMO (Chief District Medical Officer). Disability should be 40% or more.

If a candidate does not attach SC/ ST/ PCG/ OBC/ EWS certificate, he/she shall be considered for General category.

Eligibility

Any student studying in Class X in the academic year 2019-2020 can appear in the state-level examination. A candidate from General/ OBC/ EWS must have passed class IX with more or equivalent to 60%. Candidate belonging to SC/ST/PCG must have passed Class IX with more or equivalent to 55% in 2018-19 from any recognized school in Himachal Pradesh. A candidate studying through ODL mode can also apply provided he/she is not employed and is below the age of 18 years as on 01.07.2019 and appearing in class X examination for the 1st time. A certificate from competent authority is required.

Exam Detail

State-level examination will consist of two papers:

Mental Ability Test: This test will judge the candidate’s power of reasoning, ability to think and judge, to evaluate or to discriminate, etc.

Scholastic Ability Test: This test will judge a candidate’s academic knowledge of subject Mathematics, Science, and Social Science.

There is no prescribed syllabus for this examination. Paper will be based on the curriculum of Class IX and X.

The minimum qualifying marks for General/OBC/EWS candidate will be 40% in each paper whereas the minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST/PCG is 32% for each paper.

Only 52 candidates will be selected from Himachal Pradesh and will be recommended for National level examination which will be held on 10 May 2020.
